Yes, it's been solved. A kitchen knife with a blunt tip!
I am speechless. I am sure no comments are needed on this forum about why it's a stupid, pointless idea.
Historical note.
In the 19th century Vatican states stilettos coiuld only be sold with a rounded point on the end similar to a small coin, which the owner ground down when he got it home.
An end to knife violence!!!!!

Only the unenlightened condier the lack of a point a detrement to effective use in violent activity
A screwdriver or cold chisel can be driven in to "terminal depth" easily
The "needle point" that the majority consider important, is really meaningless
[Unless an advesary is wearing chainmail]

I was taught to throw a commando knife by a Royal Marine. I was surprised when he told me that in service they used to break off the tip and sharpen the end as it was better than the delicate tip.

Re: An end to knife violence!!!!!
If they didn't break the tip on the old Sykes-Fairbane type, it would break anyway in a short time
IF, I was designing the IDEAL "combat knife" the "point" would be like a butter knife [but shaving sharp]
A knife like this would be great but it would sell like "sleeve garters"
The "drug store commandos" would NEVER want it
There seems to be a psychological "need" for a needle point

they probably use the needle point to get out the splinters in their hands from the old wooden baseball bat they beat people with!
