Hello, first post,well for a few years anyway used to come on here a long long time ago.new email,new name now closer to my own.
Anyway for anyone here who saw the rediculous report on uktv last night a programme called WATCHDOG.The paranoia has set in well and truely.
They were doing an "indepth report" about Ebay,and all the so called illegal knives you can get on there.
so what did they discover to my shock and horror?...yes 3..count em... 3 manuel lock knives,that he went on to describe as flick knives (strange how i can find those in any local gift shop here).he did however buy a steath/polymer knife... but even those have been around for ages, i got one a while ago legally from i think some type of gadget/spy shop...
oh and a highly dangerous pen that had a thin blade in it!..again,until a few year ago could get those anywhere.
so much for the BIG INVESTIGATION.
the funniest part was that when they took these "highly dangerous" weapons to the police, the cop said and i quote "these are ALL illegal to OWN in the uk!" i kid you not.
as a result, ALL non kitchen knives are to be removed from ebay. anyone who has any kind of knife is obviously a dangerous criminal cos there is NO REASON apparetly to own such items... err, exept collecting, appreciating,admiring them..as would a collector of ANYTHING.
clearly the UK is getting more paranoid by the day.I for one wont be bining my collection.collectors are not scallys/hoodies etc. knives dont kill people, people kill people.
next we will see the baning of outragious items such as HAMMERS,CRICKET BATS,SCREWDRIVERS,CROWBARS,STANLEY KNIVES,TENT PEGS,NAIL CLIPPERS etc...cos as they oh so rightly point out "there is no need for a person to own such items,they only serve one purpose and that is to KILL"

Dont be surprised if United states jumps on that band wagon someday.people need to start looking at knives and guns as tools rather than weapons.Given the fact that the percent of crime that uses this instruments for murders ruines the reputation for honest collectors and enthusiasts.To the general public guns and knives are weapons make for one purpose to kill.They only hear the bad from media never the good.Its unfortunate that people can be so ignorant .

The "Media" all need to be gathered up and sent to their own private island where they can all investigate each other and take away their OWN individual freedoms instead of putting an evil spin on every one of OUR freedoms.

It seems anything even remotely different from their liberal, pro-gay, pro-socialist, anti-traditional value system is blown up out of proportion with hysterical predictions and made up "facts" from UNDISCLOSED SOURCES.
Obama and his cronies are apparently after conservative talk-radio, Born-Again Christians, and Pro-Life people, trying to put "Hate Crime" legislation into action to censor what they can say and where they can say it.
