CS uses secret steel unless you step up to a big fixed and get the Carbon V which is great but like Al says 1095. Most all SpyderCos use either AUS-6 or AUS-8 which are great on a pocket knife. Some of there higher end models use more exotic steel. BM uses ATS-34 for just about all there models they have a high MSRP but you can look around for cheaper. there cheaper model is the Assent? which goes around $55-60 if they still even make it. Their might even be a guy floating around here who has a Warren Osbourne for a good price but I'm not sure. Don't look at BM web site cause the prices are way out their.Try 1 stop Knife,Knife outlet,E-bay. Hell lad just google any of the knives you mentioned and you will find 100's of dealers and look for your best price.

Some of the prices are under what I pay as a dealer!! [Unless I buy a dozen/gross at a time depending on the item].

I would go with the drop point and no serrations. It will work for you.

KCT2
That was the Ascent I spoke of earlier and wondered if they still made it. Its cheap cause it has no liners, lock back and I think AUS-6 its very light but so isn't the CS your looking at . They are made almost the same way. Flip a coin between the 2 me I would take the BM. I think price wise your next step up the BM ladder is the Griptilion. around $70-$80. Go to attached http://www.benchmade.com/ See what you like and take it from their. then check out here http://spyderco.com/ then check this one out and decide http://www.coldsteel.com/ Other then buy it for you your on your own
