Re: Any Rizutto clones for sale?
Real Rizuttos are from Italy I believe, not Korea....lol
Re: Any Rizutto clones for sale?
No no no, most "real" Rizzutos are from Japan, with a very small few possibly originating in Italy. The original Rizzutos (lockback) were built in Italy, and it is assumed by some that many of the early button open/close ones were. However, the majority of the Rizzutos you see are in fact Japanese clones that were made anywhere between the 50's and early 80's, and mimic the original Italian lockback version. In essence, the Korean clones being referred to in this thread were built much more recently and are a clone of a clone. There is also a Taiwanese version.
The post linked here, and a few after it, try to describe the estimated timeline of the Rizzuto variants...

Cool, looks like you have one of the step-bolster Rizzutos. Its been estimated that those are all of Japanese origin. Its one of the higher quality Rizzutos out there (not that many of them really scream quality ). Using that lighter for reference I'd say its one of the 7.25 inchers, right? Thanks for posting a pic!

Re: Any Rizutto clones for sale?
7.25" is correct, i was thinking about selling it but im not sure what its worth
Re: Any Rizutto clones for sale?
They tend to sell from $40 -75 for thta size and in good condition. That one is from Japan, and is one of the "better" ones. Only warning is never ask Al the value or worth of them....lol
Re: Any Rizutto clones for sale?
Offer sent I agree with all info stated. The step bolsters are my 3rd favorite, right under the swedged flatgrinds and ultimately the lockbacks.
Here's a pic showing a white one just like your's sitting beside a "lighter & cheaper" built pearlized one. The ones with silver buttons have always ended up being stellar rizzies.
