my goal is a different mikov for every day of the week - times 52 weeks
Hey....I have enough of that vanilla blue ice swirl to make another mikov if anyone is interested in giving it a shot.

Hey ECS....it would be really neat if you did a pictorial of you building one of the Mikov kits.eastcoastsniper wrote:my goal is a different mikov for every day of the week - times 52 weeks

I'll start taking pic's of the next one. It will be a while though.
Here's a good tutorial to get anyone started on a mikov.

Re: MIKOV KITS
I think he's using a router. I don't have a router or milling machine.
I mark off where I want the channel and attach a dremel 9933 carbide cutter to my drill press and slowly carve out the area. If you don't have a drill press, a dremel will work just fine. It also works well for making hidden spring scales for the leverletto. Here is the tool I'm referring to:
.
http://cgi.ebay.com/DREMEL-TUNGSTEN-CAR ... .m20.l1116
.
after you make the channel, use the same bit to go down the scale and expose about 3/4 inch of spring. (you can see a pic of that in Nemo's pdf) I also use that same bit to make a (very shallow)circular indent just off center towards the rear of the firing lever. Sand that area out to help the lever sit deeper in the scale and to give your thumb a little space to get to the underside of the lever. Look close at the last blue swirl I posted, you'll be able to see the rounded recess in the scale.
.
Hope that helped!

This will probably be even more helpful. This is a set of black pearl with gold I'm working on. These scales are ready to put on the liners.

Re: MIKOV KITS
It's the same set...front and reverse. This one should be done in a few days, then I'll start the tutorial on how to make a Mikov.
How about if I make a Genuine (NOT FAUX) carbon fiber mikov with thorn and vine filework for the tutorial?
what do the masses think of that idea?

Re: MIKOV KITS
Here's a leverletto I made with carbon fiber.
If y'all don't want the carbon fiber scale material for the tutorial, I have 5 or 6 others to choose from. I'll take some pic's and everyone can post their choice .
