I am a big freshwater fisherman! Living on Long Island NY, fishing is big, but most people perfer salt water. I have always perferred a nice pond, lake or stream! I would rather caught a bunch of panfish or a few trout or bass, than those monsters that are out in the sea. I often stop on my way home at a few local lakes that have a good assortment of fish, and are stocked with trout twice a year. It is very relaxing spending a hour fsihing after working in NYC all day.

In much of the Northeast it is almost certain that a 10 mile drive, will take you past at least one or two rivers, lakes, streams, or ponds.
This makes it easy to be a freshwater fisherman
