My favorite is my Kimber Target Match .45, very accurate and fits my hand well.
The only thing I take seriously in life is death but I haven't gotten there yet!

I bought mine about 25 years ago. Put 1,000's of rounds through it and its still like new. If you use the plastic 30 or 50 rd mags, don't use truncated bullets. If your'e into raped fire, spend a few bucks extra for copper jacket, as dirty lead will cause jams. As for the upgrades, I've never even considered it, except for the 4X scope I use for elminating the desease infected digger squirrels that harrass my driveway.
Best regards,
Bonz

Re: best small firearm?
Other than the scope, I'm not planning on any mods for mine. If you are into that sort of thing, you can find just about anything at rimfirecentral.com. There are even several forums dedicated to 10 22's.

Quite right you are too. Those Armscor AK and AR style rimfires are junk; constant jamming and apparently fairly regular parts breakage.justinRsmith wrote: i am so glad i didnt get the armscor m1600 instead of the 10/22
Make sure you keep the Ruger magazines in good condition (I.E: clean and with good springs). In my experience the magazines can cause some of the most persistent cycling problems when the springs start to fail. Mine went from roughly 20+ jams per 150 rounds to zero jams over 200 rounds just by replacing the wasted 10rnd factory mags with new mags of the same type.
Enjoy it. Apart from the ergonomics their a very good self-loader.
Best regards, Hadson.

Re: best small firearm?
For a couple weeks I've been switching from my old steam operated laptop to a new kerosene operated one
Lost some stuff and made a "operator errors" in the process
But the thread title gave me an excuse to try out one of the high tech features of the new one [built-in web cam]
MY idea of a small firearm - my Beretta .22 short
And, a wep cam DOES "flip" things 180 degrees

The one with the target front sight is a [sporterized] 03 Spingfield .30-06justinRsmith wrote:is that an air gun in the background also?
The one with no front sight [only barrel visible] is a Beeman .22 air rifle [made by Webley].
And this is a M-1 Carbine in a semi "Assault Stock"
