Need help identifing my rare batwing stiletto.
Re: Info on batwing
I can't figure out how to put a pic on here.
Re: Info on batwing
You have to crop the pics to less than 1GB.
Re: Info on batwing
I can't do the pic but I have a rare stelleto 7.5 with .blk handles brass buttons. Only marked stainless steel on the blade. This is a pre rizzuto knife I was told.
Re: Info on batwing
A Japanese pre-Rizzuto sounds like a 1950's Japanese picklock. But, wouldn't have batwings , referring to swinguards. Looking forward to pics...

email the photo to katrencik7@verizon.net
I will resize it and post it
I don't understand the term Pre-Rizzuto, , , and I've seen a lot of images.
other than the lock-back swingguards that look identical to Rizzuto's
I thought the coffin bolster or the step bolster Rizzys were the 1st gen.
They had really thick bolster metal, and thick brass liners.
Generally, as production increases, cost cutting becomes dominant.
and that the moustache guard and the bat wing guard came later.
like the wasp waist rizzy ( fly-lock ) and the finger groove rizzy.
I would post examples, but I don't have access to my Image CD collection
as I am currently not at home.

This is an idea sheet for potential swing guard designs. . .
the names of styles are arbitrary and not official.
CAMP = Campolin
Klingon = may be trademarked under different name by another custom knifemaker
Since there are easily 10 different types of bat-wings and different sizes / proportions. .
I would hope that maybe a concensus of names might be discussed.
