Re: Vintage stilettos
Yes a few of their items seem too cheap.....Agree with Bill
Re: Vintage stilettos
Thanks for the affirmation Bill and Tom. I too am suspicious, so suspicious that I actually confirmed that their address exists when I first saw the site. I had never heard of Otto, NC and thought it might be another Mayberry. You are right about the prices. For the German leverlocks, the prices of the modern models seem about right but the vintage ones seem way, way below market value.

The shell puller has been badly rehandled.

There's no telling. Everybody wants to be a knife repairman!
A couple of them are pretty good.

Re: Vintage stilettos
I’m still practicing it. Haven’t had any real success yet on a pinned knife. Mainly because I don’t have a solid work area in my apartment. I’ve only used my dining room table for some light, easy fixes. The table doesn’t work for hammering pins in since it isn’t totally solid and rattles every time you hammer something. Perhaps a cinder block or brick on the floor would be the best surface to use.Bill DeShivs wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 7:47 pm There's no telling. Everybody wants to be a knife repairman!
