Have been working on this for a while, ran into all kind of problems along the way but have got it now, just got to clean it up and add a little filework and I will post a decent pic if I can manage to take one

wow- apparently the swing kriss has been an idea that just wont fade away.

Would love to hear about the trials and tribulations of making that one.
Looks great.
Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes.

Great ideas shouldn't fade away. Just refined till they become a reality.

The pivot holes for the blades are in the same position so that was good to start, I ground off the locking pin on the kris blade and built up the area with stainless steel-tig welder-then filed in the shape of the tang hole for the backspring lock.
The kris blade is not as wide as the stiletto blade so when closing the knife it would not engage the lock, so I moved the hole to the edge of the blade so it could lock, I remember Vagrant saying the hardest part is keeping them locked and that turned out to be very true. I was going to move the button pin to the side of the liner but wanted to keep the horn scales and I was afraid you would be able to see the button mechanism through the transparent horn if I had to go too close to the edge, so I moved the hole instead.
I used thicker stainless steel liners and I have the bolsters in solid stainless also.
The swinguard blade was a little thinner than the stilleto blade (.009) so I ground the kris blade tang down to match the thickness of the backspring/lock.
Everything else was pretty straight forward I guess but I have no reference as this is my first stiletto, I did a mikov kit though.
It has a powerful kick - maybe because of the lighter blade?? and it locks up fine. I will add a little filework and assemble it completely asap.

You should make a jig and do a bunch of them! A drop-in kris conversion would sell well here.

Bill's got the right idea. I know of at least one person around here that would want one. I don't think I need to mention his name, we all know who he is.

I will copy this one as I have a spare blade, never thought about making it as a blade only deal to convert a swing - that is a great idea, but Im afraid spare time is a rare commodity for me at the moment and it may be a while until I get around to it. Besides, I love it as a hobby but it would be different as work!
Jagman.
ps. I should get one to Wally J. asap to stop him ranting eh?

Greetings, Mr. Jagman-

Your efforts at creating the elusive 11" Kriss swing guard are massively impressive. I hereby bestow upon you the title of- Forgemaster Exaaltii. You are in first place ranking on the Wally J. Corpse Ol' Pal Register, and granted immunity from the WJC GP. I would most certainly love to see just such an item with my own eye in hand ASAP. If you are the one to make these a reality, my choice of handle material would be a blood red acrylic, kinda translucent, like a candy apple type of paint job on a car. Of course, a silver skull for a release button would make a cadaver's dreamage come true. Don't feel AS if there is any pressure to be concerned about, I'll just say that I respect your ability, and applaud your incentive.

AS ever,

Your ol' pal,

Wally J. Corpse

Hallowed greetings right back to you Wally J. Corpse.
Unaccustomed as I am to corrosponding with someone from the great beyond, let me state that I am much exalted to be atop of the 'Ol pal' list,
truly an honour that a lowly mere mortal as myself does not deserve.
You may get a surprise one of these centuries and may it have blood red scales.
Kindly give my reguards to Randall and Hopkirk as they are/were da bomb.
glad to be alive, Jagman.
