Anyone seen of of these before?

Post by skirmish »

 it’s a very heavy well made knife. Similar to the early case lever knives. Tang stamp is a bit of a mystery. Any information would be nice. Thanks, Skirmish

I have not seen that p[articular knife.
However, the construction makes me think it was made in India.

Hi Bill,
I’m curious what clues about the construction of the knife imply made in India?

The bolsters appear to be nickel-plated steel. The lever design. The tang stamping.
Not all Indian-made knives were particularly crude or cheap.

I worked on a very similar lever a while ago. It had the same three scale pins and two lever spring pins. The person who had it thought it might be Spanish, I think just because it was unusual, but it had really cheap aged white bone that made me think it might be Indian or Pakistani. I can't remember what the lever looked like but it was something like that. I will try to find a pic.

Here is that one. Unfortunately, I don't have any shots that show the stamp.

Many were stamped "KCW."

Many of the manuals are marked that way.
