Thanks to "The-Distinctive-Edge"

Post by Rolex »

Hi All,

I recently decided to buy myself a new ‘toy’, so I took a look at the list of the ‘Good Ones’ and decided to contact Paul at The Distinctive Edge. I just wanted you all to know what great service I had, and that I thoroughly recommend him to everyone.

The only difficulty was one associated with communication – his e-mail service provider keeps bouncing my e-mails, don’t know why, and I am sure it is nothing to do with Paul. So, I used the Talkblade private messaging system and that resolved the issue.

Paul was very helpful in answering my questions prior to placing the order; and I do ask a lot of questions of anyone I am dealing with for the first time as it generally avoids disappointments later on. I then had to wait a few days while Paul’s new stock arrived, after which he despatched the order last Friday (19th December). When the post arrived on Tuesday morning (23rd) I received my new toy, and very pleased I am with it too. You may ask what is so good about a 4 day delivery; well considering the usual postal delays at Christmas, and the fact the goods had to make a Transatlantic flight, I think it is fantastic!

Well done Paul and thank you for my new toy. I very much hope we can do business again in the future.

Merry Christmas to everyone

i had the same excellent service from Paul. Paul was able to accomodate me with my special circumstances and i was able to place an order for a nice knife. TDE will have my business again in the future.

Rolex,

It is customary to brag about said new toy. So, come on now, what did ya get?

This is known as pre-selling. Poor communication, too. Same old tricks.

I guess the Elephant is a rope. No, it's a tree.

Sorry for slow response - been away for a few days. The knife is a Vallotton & Diskin dual action – it has a really positive action, especially after a squirt of WD40 was applied to the appropriate parts.

Stone Knife - not sure if Paul was pre-selling or not, but his communications were still better than many I have tried to work with, and I am still impressed with the speed of delivery.

Rolex, there's nothing else quite like getting a new toy in the mail.

Weird.

My e-mails are getting bounced by distintive edge too. Some mega spam filter perhaps.

I've followed Rolex's lead and tried pming TDE (on knife forums) last night. Message has been read but no reply yet.
