"Deadliest Warrior"

Post by LD57 »

Anybody see this last night (Sunday 5/23)?
They did a match-up between Jesse James' Gang and Al Capone's Gang.
One of the weapons they evaluated was the switchblade stiletto vs. the Bowie knife.
Interestingly, the switchblade won, based on its lethality (thin blade penetrating between the ribs, etc.) and its concealability.
Pretty interesting to see that guy use it on a ballistics-gel dummy.

I suppose if the criteria are carefully selected an 18 wheeler is "better" than a Ferrari

You know, I saw that. When the 'mob historian' got all crazy with the dummy I thought... historian heck... Soldato more likely.
Did you see the violence of those strikes? I doubt either of my stilettos would stand up to that kind of beating, nor do I think I'd have edge enough to slice something up that slick.

It was pretty violent.
I think the fact that he used a 9 inch probably helped. Less stress on the lock than a longer blade.

I couldn't justify a strike that hard with anything other than a fixed blade. I have Gerber MkII I bought for that kind of stuff. It sits beside my bed with my .45, my Carbine and my Garand... and my mini 14 with NV. I need a sap.

It seems that among the obvious [1911, Luger] there is one of the Woodsman series 8)
My favorite .22, darn near rifle accurate

That would be the Pre-Woodsman that I shoot things in the head with. I bought it for $220, finish is rough from storage in a holster, and there is a bulge in the barrel.

I also carry it with my shotgun for dealing with winged starlings. I've been running Fiocchi subsonics with good results.

Despite those defects I rang the 120 yard gong round for round with a silenced Ruger Mk III outfitted with a red dot. Once I found my elevation I was good to go. I'll post a relevant pic if Opera Mini don't freeze my phone.

Yes, I got my foot in the pic. Yea focal plane!

He ain't astonished... he dead.

I had to clear my trap, and he wanted to bite me. He bit the dust. Awful yard pests, rockchucks.

Next time someone says .22 hollow points don't create hydrostatic shock, refer them to this.

The ol' broomy needs re-lined real bad. I traded my bolo for the Luger, with a li'l cash. I still want a Japanese type 26m and type 14, Nagant, webley, H&R defender 925, two IAI Javelinas, an HK Mk23, a .38-44, an L35, and a P38. However I can't afford any of the above.
