I'm sure that this film has already been brought up, I did not check the 114 pages of this thread first LOL. There was a very quick passing mentioning and showing of a switchblade knife taken off a girlfriend of a suspect Police arrest in the 1950 Film Noir "Between Midnight and Dawn". If someone is looking for films that a switchblade plays a prominent role in, then I'd skip this film. If someone likes this genre and wants to watch, then think of the switchblade as "added feature"

Tom, you can search the thread for movies with the search box that is right next to the "Post Reply" button at the top of each page.

It doesn't look like the movie you mention has been added yet.

In the low-budget movie Zodiac Killer (1971) - directed by Tom Hanson- uses the killer a horn handle picklock stiletto.

I have not seen the movie, not really my kind of thing but I did see a short clip from Alice's Restaurant(1969) where a guy snaps open an 8 or 9 inch stiletto.

In an episode of South Park a few weeks ago (I think it was a re-run from a year or two ago) one of the Goth Kids pulls out an auto side-opener. I think the episode was called "Coon & Friends"; it was the second or third parts of a three parter),

What was interesting is that it was unusually detailed for an auto in a cartoon. I would guess that the animator had based the drawing on a real switchblade he had a picture of. It was different than a normal Italian; it might have been based on one of those American made Dynamic Stilettos.

If it had been a German leverlock or even a modern Italian with bayo blade, it at least would have looked somewhat accurate, but a Leveretto? That don't make any sense. :?

In the movie Driver, the head bad guy (played by Albert Brooks of all people) uses a number of switchblades. You even see the display case he keeps them in. If you didn't know about autos, you would think they were all really fancy ones (based on the cool case the crime boss kept them in) but they were all just middle-of-the-road stuff.

That's a pre-beheaded Vic Morrow. That particular shot is from Blackboard Jungle.

I just watched Black Hand. Gene Kelly closes his 11" picklock one handed (early in movie, 15 mins maybe). He uses the back of his right thumbnail, catches the underside edge of the lock tab and and pushes up. Kelly had strong thumbs, or I have weak ones.
