Mr. Vagrant,

A crisis of epic purportions I say! Somewhere, in my vast conglomeration of spring steel, I know I have a mint condition Ladya. Even has authenic Russkie instructions on how to open the damn thing. Since I don't know the Russkie language, I haven't figured it out. So, in my infinite wisdom, grace, political correctness and smelly socks, hereby offer it for only 25% more than I paid for it. I promise not to tell that to the guy I bought it from, er, wait a minute here.....

Best Regard's,

Bonz

I had already ordered another [to sell] now it may replace the injured one until I have time to attempt a fix.

Vagrant,

Given your skills and abilities, how difficult a repair do you think that it will be?

No clue on the difficulties involved [yet]. If the spring can be driven out like a Hubie it is a case of; remove, copy, heat treat, install. If disassembly is involved I'll "back burner it" until I can practice on some lesser cutlery.

Vagrant,

"remove, copy, heat treat, install" - I can usually accomplish step #1 but I have a lot of trouble (or can't do them at all) the others.
I collect springblades but I carry my "thumbers."

I'm most likely to have problems during disassembly [if necessary] with knives I seem to learn the hard way how I should have done it.
