After the auction was removed I spoke with the seller and advised him to re-list it on SD.

Very nice BTB!! :D :D I have often advised sellers to go to SD also when eBay kills auto or gravity knife auctions (when I can't buy the item outright myself  ), I think a lot to Rizzy folks do go to SD because the Rizzys command such a high price in the current market.

To be honest, I actually think Rizzutos get higher bids on ebay than SD. There's more exposure on ebay. Plus you get more bidders that think Rizzies are even more rare than they already are, and don't know if they'll ever get another chance to buy one. A perfect example is the beat up one from the first post of this thread that sold for over $200. Although I don't bother listing any automatic knives on ebay anymore, because in my experience they shut down the auction 90% of the time.

And a lot more bogus bids. I wouldn't be surprised if the high bid on this was fake.

I'd agree that might be the case, except for the fact that there was more than one person bidding at that high level. Rizzutos going for crazy high prices like that on ebay are a lot more common than you might think. Like I said though, in my experience they usually get pulled well before the auction has a chance to get that far.

AAAAAAAANd on to the next one....
AAAAAAAANd....it's gone  That's too bad, cuz that auction had an old false-button Valor in it too. That Rizzuto had a wierd stamp..."Stileto Rissuto Milano"

Definitely an usual stamp..I have no idea where that one originated. The O.M.O.R was a bit interesting too. The VALOR was also a pretty little round bolster manual.

Since it's already at 6 or 7 times real value, some people have caught on

You don't know the value...because it's in the eye of the beholder. No offense, but these comments about Rizzutos being overpriced are becoming annoying, and old. We get it, they were really inexpensive decades ago.

That being said, don't get me wrong....I know the prices are currently reaching all time highs. I like Rizzutos, but some of these folks have GOT to be crazy.

That old step bolster looks to be in fairly decent condition. If it doesn't get pulled, I'm guessin' around $150 :P
