I'm almost positive they used leverlettos in Westside Story
You are thinking of leverlocks (plenty of those used in many different movies that we've covered already). Google search the word "leverletto". One of our fellow forum members (Bill DeShivs) designed the leverletto MUCH more recently than when West Side Story came out. That's why I mentioned that Bill may be able to identify it.
He may not be familiar with Bill's Leverlettos and is confusing them with standard "lever" autos.

That one shot could be distorted but it looks like the blade is a bit "clippish" to me.
Leverletto's don't have clip-style blades....at least none I am aware of.

I noticed that as well, but I'm pretty certain that it's just a distortion caused by the visual effects they used in that scene. It's really hard to tell though. I'll bet Bill would be able to tell us for sure whether or not the knife is a leverletto.

That would be the best ever if it was a Leverletto.
Bill could get some kick-back from the movie and buy us all one. 8)

I found one.

Season 1, episode 3 of the BBC series Torchwood

A knife that looks like a trapdoor otf is used by a rapist to threaten a girl. Later the rapist uses the knife to threaten 2 witnesses/torchwood operatives. He is subdued and one of the operatives attempts to kill him with the knife, he eventually gives up. In the end a different torchwood operative winds up stabbing the man to death with his own 40 year old knife.

The blade gets a surprising amount of screen time throughout the episode.

It sounds like a switchblade when it opens, but it was a real quick shot and I couldn't tell if he presses a button or just flicks his wrist. Guess we'll have to wait for the movie to come out to know for sure, unless someone can identify it with this pic...
You know, I saw that same trailer while my connection was busy sucking like a small tornado, Else I'd'a posted it.

Still no dice on Wild Thing? It hasn't played lately, so I can't record it.

I'm still trying to find a copy, but it's proving difficult because of all the movies and media with similar titles i.e. Where The Wild Things Are, Wild Things, Wild Thing the song, there's apparently a few pornos called Wild Thing  etc...

Saw a pretty bad movie called The Informers. Mickey Rourke pulls out a stiletto, bout midway through the movie.

Just confirmed by the man himself, Bill DeShivs, that the knife used in this shot from Ghost Rider is in fact a Leverletto 8) ...

Not a trapdoor otf, one of the newer nato dual action autos from the late 80's or ealy 90's...

I just realized that there is TWO knives. The first is all black, the second wielded by the elderly man, has silver parts not seen on the first.

No, it's the same knife. The dark reflection on the bolster in that first shot just makes it look black.
