Re: New full size SA/OTF from ProTech
The protos are in stainless frames so I'm sure they wll be VERY solid. The production run is going to be 6061 T6. We should have ours in hand by Tuesday. I can't wait to get one in my hand.

Re: WHY is a left handed stiletto SOOOO expensive.
Yes, leverlocks are a good choice for leftys. There are a few ambidexterous releases that work well. Benchmades axis lock comes to mind but there are a few more.

Re: WHY is a left handed stiletto SOOOO expensive.
We have purchased some leftys because so many customers ask about them but they just gather dust.
Al was right on about why they are more costly. If leftys bought more maybe the production #s would go up and $ would come down.

Re: Best Oil Ever (IMO)
Also, it isn't so hot to put in your car engine. An old timer suggested it to me, about 20 years ago, and the results weren't so good. Tom WD or Marvel mystery oil?? I've used MMO for years in my car for years. Put in the gas it seems to lube upper cyliders and valve guides nicely. Never tried it o...

Re: BEST BUCK AUTO CONVERSIONS
Cumberland made my favorite Buck 110 conversion. They were reliable, well made and had a round button, which I prefer. Terry is correct about the coil springs being harder to fix if they break but I never heard of a coil breaking. The leaf springs did break sometimes but were pretty easy fixes requi...

Re: New experiment with old school ProTech finishes.
No doubt about it, they all look good, BUT.......... "the company that used to do it priced themselves out of the knife market" It depends on how badly one wants one of these beauties for the added expense. Are they $20, $30, $40, more, or are they $200, $300, $400 more. Personally, there are some ...

Re: New experiment with old school ProTech finishes.
I have a couple of old school Protech jazz finishes from the same company and they have held up really well. Most of the quality anodizing is surprisingly tough.

New experiment with old school ProTech finishes.
Do you guys remember the splash or "Jazz" anodizing Dave used to use on the ProTechs? It was AWESOME and far superior in appearence. What happened is that the look became so popular that the company that used to do it priced themselves out of the knife market and started doing artsy hardware for roc...

Re: New and different knife design. You'll flip!
The first run will be a double edge. The next run will probably sport a flat ground blade that will be similar to a Boker 712.for better EDC utility. The double edge spear just looked so froggin cool.

Re: New and different knife design. You'll flip!
Not at all a "Paul". Mechanism is completely different. Paul knives swing open in the same fashion but don't open and close back up around the blade. The frame of a Paul knife move in any way nor does the frame support the blade in any way.Bobby Cadillac wrote:Looks like a Paul knife to me...

Re: New and different knife design. You'll flip!
Here is how it works. The body of the knife is completely closed around the blade with no gaps. When you squeeze the release the two halves of the body seperate, center the blade and allow the blade to float freely. A slight flick or pointing downward allows the blade to swing out into position. Onc...

New and different knife design. You'll flip!
Hey Guys. Here is a sneak peek at a new knife design by Asheville Steel / Paragon. The mechanism is not spring assisted or automatic. It's more a gravity knife but opperates somewhat like a bali. It's a completely different release as far as we are aware. Here are the preliminary renditions. There w...

Re: NYC definition of a switchblade
In New York City it's probably illegal to switch from a butter knife blade to a steak knife blade when dining because "switch" and "blade" are in the same sentence. ash holes!! Isn't there enough REAL crime that crimes don't have to be invented or contrived?
