Re: Switchblade Identification help INOX
The patent number is for a Latama kris blade. I believe the makers used it to keep others from making similar knives-even if it only covered the blade style. I'm sure patents were new to the Maniago makers in the 1950s and were poorly understood. You can squirt a little WD 40 in the safety slot. If ...

Re: Remington Knives
Camillus made Remington-marked knives for quite a while. Then, Bear MCG bought the rights to the Remington name.
Bear no longer owns the rights, so they are probably made in China now.

Re: Mike "Tank" Fisher
I'm assembling some Hubertus knives for a fellow. Got one together, but it refused to open all the way. I have been working the blade manually to break it in. I put grease on it in the shop. Picked up a tube of Tank's Quick release and put a drop in the pivot. The knife slams open now. It's really g...

Re: Over shooting
The backspring on Japanese picklocks are notoriously thin, plus they are nickel plated, which makes them brittle.

This is a "pre-Rizutto" knife. They are lockback automatics.
If your knife has a brass button, or anything different, it's not one of these.

Re: Over shooting
Sometimes it's a pivot pin problem.
If the knife has been reassembled with a smaller backspring pin, it can cause the blade to over open.
If it's neither of these, then the backspring will have to be lengthened.

Re: Taiwanese rehab
I see.
On your lockblade, you can take the blade and backspring out, and peen the displaced metal back where it needs to go.
