The Federal defintion labels Gravity knives and true switchblades as one in the same. State laws differ widely. As for collectors, a switchblade is a knife that opens AUTOMATICLY when pressure is applied to a button or lever in the HANDLE of the knife ( a spring powers the release). A Gravity knife...
