Re: Some knife Folklore
This is a slmilar list I posted at Teddy's These are some I've collected, some are contradictory: -A knife as a gift from a lover means that the love will soon end. -A knife placed under the bed during childbirth will ease the pain of labor. -If a friend gives you a knife, you should give him a coin...

Re: History of the Vendetta Corsa stiletto!
There was a run of knives made as a marketing excercise.

Re: Interesting picture from Rome
Knife shops in Italy do not usually display automatics and usually no longer stock them. They sometimes have some "in the back of the shop" for favoured clients. Tourist shops sometimes have rubbishy ones available. There are good selections of American knives available but priced much higher than i...

We could always become fahrenheit 451 (the book, the film - titled after the burning point of paper) and the book people.
What book would you choose? I think I'd choose Shibumi by Trevanian but I'd want to edit it a little

Re: How Sharp Are Your Scissors? How Good Is Your Insurance?
I can relate to this tale. I was working in a hospital, back when cut and paste was done with a razor and paper glue. I routinely used to cut bits of paper to glue them onto other bits of paper using a cutter and a steel rule. I used to be very fast at this, so fast that I had a fingertip over the e...

Re: My Favorite Stiletto

They have been described as similar to a bull's horns: "a point here, a point there and a lot of bull i...

Re: An end to knife violence!!!!!
I was taught to throw a commando knife by a Royal Marine. I was surprised when he told me that in service they used to break off the tip and sharpen the end as it was better than the delicate tip.

An end to knife violence!!!!!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1192969/Pointless-The-new-kitchen-knife-chops-wont-stab.html Yes, it's been solved. A kitchen knife with a blunt tip! I am speechless. I am sure no comments are needed on this forum about why it's a stupid, pointless  idea. Historical note. In the 19th c...

Re: Knife Ban update- Letters needed !!!!!
I don't live in the US but I think everyone needs to react.
Why?
So you don't end up with a situation like the UK. No pistol and major hassle if you carry a simple pocket knife. We can see how effective these policies have been by looking at gun and knife crime. Worse every day.
