Re: "The Toy That Kills" article - 1950
You left out selling shirt hangers back to the cleaners. We recycled before it was cool. My folks grew up in families of very modest means, during the Great Depression. They tended to save things like baling twine (my dad grew up on a farm); scraps of lumber; wire; and cardboard boxes.... such thin...

I about fell out my chair when I saw this post. I look at this forum everyday and questioned myself on how I missed this one. Then I saw the original post date. Whew!!!! I’d rather be a couple years late rather than a day late.

Re: Info on knife help please.
So I have a chance to buy this knife from a friend. INOX in a diamond is stamped on the blade. No other markings are present. Thick stag grips look to have very nice age and in perfect condition. Blade does not to look to have been sharpened and is bright and shiny. Blade has no wobble and opens fa...

Re: EIG's
Very, very nice assortment of EIG autos. One thing that I’ve noticed when it comes to pre-60’s stamps is that EIG is one of the few among Italian stamped knives that had leverlocks in their stable. I noticed the one in your lineup. Which family produced the EIG brand or was there more than one? If t...

Bill ~ OMG !! That's like hearing that Rolls-Royce was importing Yugos and selling them under the RR brand.....! I am absolutely stunned that a German cutler would put his mark on something like this. Heck, I'm embarrassed FOR him. *shakes head in disbelief* ---------------------------- Chris ~ tha...

Re: unmarked Rizzuto
Hey button_man... Her are some pics of 3 knives that I believe are Rizzy's without the REM blade stamp. I had JTK repair the peek and rocker on the red one in which he verified was a Rizzy w/out the REM stamp. I do consider Jeremy an authority on Rizzy's. The white one is exactly the same as the red...

Rare and unusual for sure. The real positive on the mechanism... keeps the blade from peeking.

If a kid saved his Xmas and birthday money, and got an allowance (or was paid for doing chores), plus picking up soda and beer bottles for the deposit, and maybe did a little horse-trading of baseball cards and other kid stuff..... yeah, I can see a kid coming up with $8 over six months or so.... a...

Re: Gumball Machine Switchblades
My research indicates that the small parts warning didn’t become law till the early 1990’s. No company is going to put that type of warning on a product until it has to. So, I would guess the early 1990’s or later.
