I've wondered if Facebook and like venues are taking traffic from forums. I realize peoples interests wax and wane and, as Bill said, people come and go but it seems like, in general, forum traffic has dropped off over the past couple of years.

I agree that peoples interests in things waxes and wanes but it seems more systemic and wide spread. Most knife forums were a hotbed of conversation a few years ago. Now I log on and there are few new posts. A few forums that were very hot 2 years ago now get so little traffic that I only visit them...

I've noticed that too but many knife forums have been ghost towns even through the winter months. Much less consistent participation than 3-4 years ago.
