You do know how to close a picklock, don't you?

I just put them together as they should be done. The available parts are very crude.
If you look at older Hubertus knives, the bolsters are evenly contoured and rounded. Later knives are just squared off.

Both abalone and white mother of pearl have been traditionally used in solid form. Just the pin head can be polished with your Dremel and a felt wheel with rouge.. You can also use a polish like Simichrome on a cloth without worrying about the horn.
