Re: Shark swimming off English coast

Congratulations Peter........enjoy the knife.

She certainly is a beauty - I never thought I would end up selling her but she's gone to a loving home and I know you will appreciate her.

All the best

Peter........

I am glad you like her...........it wasn't the easiest thing in the world to let her go but at least I know she's gone to a good home. :P

Welcome to the Havlin owners club! But.........now you have one, you are on a slippery slope!

Take care buddy & enjoy the knife.

Glad you like the knife Peter...................I am pleased that pieces from my treasured collection are going to such an appreciative new owner............I spent many years (and £££££££'s) putting it together but am finding my tastes slowly changing to vintage Sheffield bowies and daggers so need...

Re: WTF

I have knives by both Paul & Pat and they are both wonderful makers................you really can't go wrong with either one of them. That said, Pat's knives are quite a bit more reasonably priced...................or at least they were the last time I looked :) I think the new OTF by BURN will be q...

Re: beltrame blondie pick

Glad you are happy with the knife Peter........................it was the first Frank B picklock I managed to pick up. I liked it cos it looked very much like some of the vintage stillys in the "Switchblades of Italy" book. I've since had quite a few picklocks in and out of my collection but that on...

Re: shaven haven!

Glad you like the knife Peter.................picklocks are a very satisfying branch of auto's to collect. But, as others here have already said..............the damn things are VERY addictive! :)

Pleasure doing business with you and enjoy your new acquisition.

All the best

I was telling Peter about the BURN custom that I had "appropriated" back in 2006 by customs.....................$1800 worth....   Can you imagine the feelings I was harbouring for a very long time after that little episode? Still seems like a bad dream even now. All the best Harry

Re: Piranha Knife co. Experience

Having all 3 knives referred to above, I will throw in my thoughts for interest. The Pirahna Excalibur is OK.................not brilliant but OK. My example suffered from misfires shortly after receiving it. I ended up stripping it down, cleaning off any visible lubrication (there was some apparent...

Re: James Bond OTF

There is a world of difference between the MOD Triton and the custom Tritons from Jeff Harkins. Absolutely NO comparison between the two..........in fairness, there's a large differential in the price as well but this is reflected in the respective quality. Harkins Tritons are about as good as OTF c...

Glad it worked out Ok in the end, Mr JB.

I never had any probs with mine and it was fine to operate out of the box. I AM used to OTF's though..........maybe I have particularly strong thumbs?

Don't let it put you off MT's.

All the best,

Re: Review of all my OTF's (thus far)

Hi James, Out of the 2 MT's you mention, I'd opt for the Troodon if you want to do any actual cutting. The Combat Troodon is more of a show stopper than the standard version but it's a lot bigger in the pocket. I love the Makora II and rate it very highly but it's less user friendly and is primarily...

Re: BURN magic!!!

Mr Leighdog, The "black" coating on the blade is coating at all. It's hand forged damascus by Mike Norris..........one of the finest knife steels money can buy. It won't scratch......its layered into the steel. As a BURN owner I can honestly say that I would rather have just a few of his knives than...
