Re: Hubertus Scout Knife

Agreed! Mine is marked on rear of main blade "DEUTSCHES PFADFINDERMESSER" With a cartouche on either end of the etch and the same cartouche in a diamond inlay on rear scale. Has main blade, pen blade, and cap lifter/screwdriver in the well and a cork screw on spine. I believe the "boy scouts" are pa...

Same pattern Dave, the donated knife was quite a bit smaller though. Seems I didn't take a pic of it either.

Re: Some Ebony Scaled Knives

Don't care about how many feet in a mike or meters either It's still just as far. Here is a tip, don't get hung up on dimension, learn about PROPORTION, and the golden ratio. There is no substitute for trial and error. They are the lessons that are remembered. Here is a pic of a very old Frosolone w...

Re: Some Ebony Scaled Knives

Jim, I don't have a punch/die set to make the "D" brackets. I make and use a single piece bracket of my own design. I can make it as long or short as I feel is needed. Take some time to count your blessings, actually stop to smell the roses and be kind to folks in this Brand New Year. Yall have a Merry Christmas and a Ha...

Next up an 11" Flatguard picklock. I built this one on 1/16" thick Brass liners with 3/32 Stainless blade and backspring it has my ever present dovetailed carbon steel kick spring. All dressed with NickelSilver furniture with a Flat top button. All dressed up in some beautiful point horn. Fast, tigh...

Old Gold

Hell whilst I'm here may as well share a couple of recent projects. First up a 10-1/2" Frosolone pattern. I built this knife on 1/8" thick NickelSilver liners with 3/16" steel N brass furniture with some very old Gold Micarta scales. Should have taken a vid of this one . It tries like hell to get aw...
