Re: New Reference Book - Canceled

No problem here Shag, I don't mind being wrong. I also hand out my share of criticism and ribbing, so I expect to get my share back. Most people don't always get my sense of humor either. You have to have a sense of humour if you're in any online forums I find. The numbers Bill gave are amazing, ju...

Re: New Reference Book - Canceled

Chalk it up to me being in a bad mood and having to read your suuuupppeeeerrrr lengthy posts. sorry No problem at all! I know that I do tend to have long posts, for which I apologize. I do however edit them down in size several times before pushing 'submit', so you are seeing just the 40% or so tha...

Oh yeah! Nailed it! 8) Thank you Bill, sorry Whip you've been whipped! :P Wow, I wasn't aware this thread had become a competition. OK, I'm going to write this up to you maybe not knowing my style of posting, or you misunderstand the intent of my post or something else, since I have no idea ...

Re: F/S: New, genuine Rizzuto Estileto Milano.

Just an observation; I believe we aren't really supposed to post anything like step-by-step instructions, border crossing info, etc. if I remember the User Agreement/Forum Rules correctly? Please correct me if I am wrong; but no matter what, I think everyone can see why posts like that should perhap...

Re: New Reference Book - Canceled

to wonder how many multi-thousands were made 'knife hysteria' I think you are greatly over estimating quantity and demand. Having been in Europe a few times and seeing knives all over as compared to here , I think I may be fairly close to my estimate and I'll stand by it. Germany alone has approx. ...

Re: New Reference Book - Canceled

I too have all the books, and would buy a new one, but I do believe that there is only a small interest in book buying. Bill, do you have any sense of how many Italian autos are made each year? Or at least how many Leverlettos have been made since they started manufacture? I only ask this to get a ...

Re: New Reference Book - Canceled

So short of me going around and personally kicking everyone's arse so I can get their wallet and buy the books for them, how do we get more people to see the problem, see how desperate the situation is - that new volumes coming out for our fringe hobby are getting rarer and rarer? How do we convinc...

WTB: Pre-2007 Cold Steel Sword Cane & Parts

I am looking for a few things for the Cold Steel line of sword canes. Does anyone here collect these, or know where to get some/all of the following: A micarta removable (screw-on) head for the CS sword cane - mint/new condition. A pre-2007 Stainless Steel Skull Head Sword Cane - mint/new condition....

Re: New Reference Book - Canceled

Just some thoughts... Imo there just aren't enough serious collectors to make it worthwhile. Of the 2600+ members here, 99.999% are folks that joined to buy a single knife or to find out about gramps old switch they found in a drawer. Not book buyers. You shouldn't over estimate the actual interest...

Re: New Reference Book - Canceled

I'm working on a book. The big problem is the price is going to be stupid high because of the limited potentiial sales or a total loss if sold at a realistic price. That my friend is why I keep preaching the mantra for all of the collectors of the auto knives to get off of their duffs and buy ALL t...

Re: WTB: Introduction to Switchblade Knives (Book)

FYI, I carved my name onto the cover of my copy...with an Edge Co. stiletto  Sorry, but that to me is just pure desecration of a book. The ONLY thing I would allow is a signing by the author of the book and not cast that among the category of disrespect of a book. Doing a dedication or hav...

Re: Philipines & Balisongs

The balisong knives have also been used for centuries there as their original intended use; a general purpose utility and working knife. Men and women alike carried them for yard and garden work, kitchen duties, general multi-purpose usage. Also, it all depends on where in the P.I. you are - Manila ...
