Re: due buoi

Tom - I can explain both. The Godfather is the "Godfather for stiletto collectors". It was sort of a forum knife, like the Due Buoi. We did it in the 2007 - 8 timeframe. Take a look at my comment in the Brazilian horn thread from a couple of days ago. Likewise with the Mikov, sort of a forum knife ...

Re: due buoi

Thanks Jim. I have a couple others which I can't remember; a Godfather with dark horn scales, polished blade, etched "Classic Godfather #03 of 10" on the frame back side. Also there's a Mikov in the collection I don't remember even buying. It has dark horn scales, filework, and the blade is etched "...

Re: due buoi

Hi Porkchop. I have one of the Italian pattern switches. It has dark horn scales. The blade is etched Due Buoi Italy 2 of 15 2006 . I think it was a forum knife. It's a good quality knife but I never liked it because the button is difficult to push and the safety is stiff too. Cooincidentally, I've ...

Re: How many times a week you give your collection a look?

Those are coming up Terry, I just put up a shot of some forum knives. Two more bunches remain; Good knives I'm uncertain about; a couple of Protechs, a few Leverlettos, etc. And, Knives by the Pound.

Re: How many times a week you give your collection a look?

ST2-2-1.jpg ST3-1-1-1.jpg I haven't photographed knives in years and it shows, unfortunately. Anyway, here they are, warts and all. I was tempted to clean them up, but in the end I just didn't have the time. 1st photo is of some bolster release types and picklocks. The clunky looking one on top is ...

Hi Terry. Sure, I could do a photo or 2. It'll take me a while to get it together.

Re: How many times a week you give your collection a look?

Actually most of my knives are packed away. I went through a period when collecting was new to me, and I bought a lot of knives. I have a couple of Godfathers and a Godson, a bunch of Leverlettos, commemorative Talkblade knives (Teddy/Pushbutton, Tiny, etc.), and about a dozen of the custom knives I...

Re: Knife shop dreams

Cool shrimp Jerry. Sincerest best wishes to you. I built switchblades too, stopped about 10 - 12 years ago. I enjoyed it a lot, and the members here were really supportive. I share your feelings of nostalgia about the bench work. I had a pretty nice shop in my basement (still do, just don't use it m...

Re: RIP Nick Wagner (Horizinod)

I remember Nick well, and have wondered from time to time how he was doing. Back around 2005 he and Brad Skipper had a feud that spilled over to several forums, including Talkblade. I remain convinced that Nick and his followers, and Skipper with his followers, wrecked the Teddy's Place forum. Nick ...

Re: About grounding/earthing

The lady of the manor bought new sheets about a month ago, and they generate static like nothing I've ever seen. Raking a hand across them is almost like when you disturb seawater at night and all the little phosphorescent micro organisms light up. Maybe bleeding off static is beneficial? I wake up ...
