I bought a 2000 Jaguar XK8 Coupe and named it after Gravknife.

It is a 2000 Jaguar XK8 that is "Topaz" in color. I named it "Ian" (after Gravknife). I paid $4200.00 for the vehicle and have put over $7000.00 into it to bring it into running condition. (It had but 60014 miles on it when I bought it from a private party).

What fun! :D

Re: Eye Candy

Ian, Thanks for sharing. I am SO glad that you are okay. I am working with an elite Armed Security Service vendor, and have been since January 8th. (I'm in the Sales division). That's SUCH a cool blade! A simple BO/BC side-opening knife with great panache! I LOVE IT! 8) It’s not a BO/BC s...

It is very  beautiful, but I have stopped "collecting" these knives. (I simply can't justify the expense).

I would restore that in a heartbeat! If you could find someone (hint: to you-know-who). This would be an excellent project for our Master Cutler.

I know that he has been awfully busy, but you can always ask.

Re: One last OTF

I only wish the handle wasn't so chunky. The Paragon clone was so much more streamlined with the same exact mechanics. I really wanted to replace its blade with the one out of this, but it just wasn't going to happen. That's the Chinese knives for you, they pump them out like water and sell them as...

Re: One last OTF

I think that they're a great knife. Simple to operate and the design is robust. (Simple is often better).

Re: I am probably beating a dead horse, but...

Yeah, I probably could've gotten that blade for five or ten bucks. Shit. Just saw a yellow one sold on aapk for $175. *Edit: I guess it's called a "bowtie". There's another one for sale there for the same price. The steel of the period was either 440A or 1055 Carbon Steel. I would like to see a nic...

Re: I am probably beating a dead horse, but...

They were made by Colonial and were made of fairly decent steel (not great, but decent). If Colonial were to make these again, they would make a LOT of money!

I am probably beating a dead horse, but...

I would like to see someone like Colonial revive the Shur-Snap line with modern steel(s) and handle materials. D2 steel or ATS-34 would work particularly well for this application. Were it as robust as a Case Peanut knife, they could rake in a whole $#it-pot full of money selling these in the "free"...

Re: I ordered the Kershaw Launch 17 this morning.

The more I carry this knife, the more I enjoy it! The steel in this knife holds an edge like a dope fiend holds a habit. The fact that it isn't a "stiletto" seems to comfort the "sheeple" (read: non-knife crowd). I now have this thing "razor-sharp" and use it at every turn because it is so convenien...
