You can dye them darker, or bleach them to lighten them.
Or, you can use them as a pattern, and make new ones.

Bummer! Next time, if you want to use the hidden pin, go ahead and peen it at the liners first. Then, relieve the scales to fit, and pivot the liners on the backspring pin to peen the other rivets.

Sorry this happened to you.
Just file the edges down, sand with 400 grit, buff with steel wool, and you're done. I wish they would contour the scales more when they make these.

Chatanooga has a lot of knife collectors. I believe the National Knife Collectors Association is headquartered there. Smoky Mountain Knife Works in Sevierville, TN might also be a good place to ask.

Standard nippers should cut the spring. Just find a diameter and strength that will work. I wouldn't take a working model apart!
With a working knife and diagrams the job should be a lot easier than "winging it."

Thanks for posting the pic!
The lever spring is stock height. The scales are just thin.
This is kingwood.

BA management changed the last ad, and probably won't let him advertise unless he states the knives are repos. He's still bogus, as he builds the knives.

The spike was used for untangling rope (parachute lines) and general utility.

Very classy! See how the Old Fashioned comes alive with nicer, thinner scales?
