Latama picklock weak spring

I have a picklock I bought a couple months ago, directly from Latama. The horn is great looking, and the knife works as it should with a lock up about on a par with a nice Frank B. I'm not getting the resounding "clack" I get with all my other picklocks. The spring sits a little farther down inside ...

Two new Latama swivel bolsters

I am in the process of changing my collection to only pick locks. I have two very recently purchased swivel bolster Latamas I am letting go. The horn scales on each are beautiful. I'll sell either one for $250 plus shipping or $450 for both plus shipping-- I have good photos of each but cannot cut t...

Re: WTB vintage swinguards

I have a choice authentic AGA Campolin 9" swinguard in a light horn. The horn looks great, nice pattern. Blade stamped stamped AGA Campolin, Maniago Italy. This is not any kind of copy, purchased a number of years ago. Blade grind is centered as it should be--I am asking $150 and that will include s...

Re: Latama switchblades

Ok, this is Squire 8o with a little tail between my legs- I have pretty much fallen in love with the Latima's and they seem to love me right back. I have bought four new since the start of this thread and the switchblade gods are smiling on me--One with the black horn, a black and white, a honey hor...

Re: 13" Latama

Maybe I am being a little dense but, if a blade has been gouged and basically ruined by an idiot and a grinder, why would regrinding deep and to the extent the complete original blade profile is long gone, be acceptable. If one has really been that butchered, it would seem replacing the blade should...

Re: Beltrame Family

Bill, I have been buying Lalamas one after another and would wonder what they might do in the way of customs. Are we talking engraving or some design changes? Or am I getting ahead of myself? I just hear Latama, and I pay attention -- John

Re: Rough pin on Latama

I went to ACE and got a couple new polishing wheels and some compound and the old cloth wheel already on the Dremel was still in good shape, so with just a small amount of the compound, the back scale is already back to very near the gloss of the front. In other words, it worked like a charm. I may ...

Re: Rough pin on Latama

That is pretty much what I was going to try, but I was thinking, be easy and gentle because dead slow on a Dremel is still fast enough to make something real hot real fast and I do not want to overdo it. What is Tripoli ? I've not heard of that -

Rough pin on Latama

One of the pin heads on the backside of a Latama is rough enough to feel simply when holding the knife. I have very small files with smooth edges and was able to smooth the edges of the pin head. I have polished the area with a polishing emery board but can't quite get back to the original high poli...

Re: Frank B red dot - very nice

Nope, it still will not let me load them, still too large. Also, I really gave the knife a very honest review last night and although it is near perfect, I am brining it down to $175.00 including shipping--anyone interested, give me an email and I'll send the photos --John

Frank B red dot - very nice -- SOLD

I'm going to sell my Frank B red dot, 9-inch, great looking horn scales, nice sweep on the front and a splash on the back, bayonet blade. This is a very straight knife for those who are as picky as I am- Looking down either side or along the spine, it's about as straight as it gets- It's In like new...

Re: Mild Latama corrections

Bill, I was trying to get an idea of what you're thinking might be on this, as far as a standard blade adjustment or a more complex repair. I can understand where blade "droop" would be a very straight forward adjustment whereas if the blade is pointing too high, I would think that is a good bit mor...

Re: Latama switchblades

boots, at one point the prices kept me away, but then eventually, I had to find out what was the mystery of these higher end knives. In most ways, they are very cool and impressive. I have had four now, still have the last two and just ordered another. So far, my issues have been something too tight...

Mild Latama corrections

Bill, I hope this is the correct place to ask you for possible repair answers- I am asking about Latamas and see that they are high on your list of knives you are qualified to repair, is it possible to pull up a blade with a slight, but noticeable "droop"? I see things in a mechanical way and realiz...
