Re: Appreciate Any Observations On An Old Picklock
Most, if not all of the stamps used in Maniago in the 1950s and 1960s were probably made by the same person(s.) Tks Bill. Would that be the Beltrame family? Regarding the stamp KOBRA and in the case of the knife I added a few pictures of, it is certainly not Arabic for "high quality spring repair" :D

Re: Appreciate Any Observations On An Old Picklock
Nice little uncommon knife I like the saphirs aswell , but not seen many of the kobra marked knives ,and not many were picklocks . Most I have seen are swivel bolsters with both bayonet and swedge blades ,and can have a mixture of stainless and nickle bolsters . fastr19 posted a really nice group o...

Re: Appreciate Any Observations On An Old Picklock
Late 1950s-1960s. I wouldn't call that a "repair." It's a bad attempt at repair. Much damage was done to the knife. While the tang stamp is unusual, I don't think it would bring much of a premium. Thank you Bill! As to do damage caused by the spring, would that be the liner/back spring gaps and bla...

Appreciate Any Observations On An Old Picklock
Hello All, Am looking at an old 9" picklock and any thoughts/observations would be appreciated. From the images, can the following be estimated? 1. age 2. does the spring appear to have been repaired It is stamped "Kobra." Reading the forums, that stamp is not common but would that add value? Does t...

SKM autos - new and legit or fake?
Hello All, On bladehq, I see a lot of knives under the SKM brand purported to be made in Italy. Some of these are popping up on AAPK store. At the same time and besides some keychains, knifeshop does not have any SKM brand autos. Does anyone know the story on these? Who is making these? Feedback app...

Re: Website. Real or fake
That is an absolute scam website. Killgar id the most overt giveaways. It is part of a VERY large network of such scam websites operated by the same person(s). There is a batch of these sites targeted at the knife collector community. The strategy is to profit from search engine traffic, leaving soc...

Re: can we talk akc knives, please.
"For some, the blades are manufactured in Italy, whilst the remainder of the knife is manufactured in Hong Kong--thus, the two countries. The country of origin is up-to-date and verified as we receive all of the product directly from the manufacturer." Yeah, right.... Chinese are buying blades made...

Hello SnakeBit and all, I am new here also and like you snakebit, enjoy a good mystery. My guess is the knife you purchased was made in Yangjiang. It is a Chinese perfecture which is renown for knife making. Here is a link to one such wholesaler. I see A LOT of familiar items on its website with low...

Thank you all for the welcome! Here are a couple of pics of my oldies. I have an Edge Company switchblade, a Nato Military OTF and a Rizzuto clone, all of which I bought in the late 80s. I am enjoying this forum and learning a lot. Beers all around! :-) No doubt the bug has bitten me and I look forw...
