I see the times haven't changed all that much with political hacks creating a "crisis" to ban an object some suburban busybody of a housewife didn't like.
In 1958 it was auto knives, now it is firearms. What the hell ever happened to the Land of the Free? Now we're the land of the freebie.

I though it was a Buck 110, not sports ball.

Re: Switchblade Collecting
I'm not sure about the dates button_man, but I will estimate sometime in the late 80's. Probably between 86-89.

Re: Switchblade Collecting
Dave -- I'm very interested to hear of the "Special Forces" and "Onyx" because I have not seen these names on the Korean OTFs before. I don't suppose you have any photos...? Here is a snip from a larger photo. I remember seeing all three in the Edge Co. catalogs back in the day. The Onyx was their ...

Re: Switchblade Collecting
One correction to my post above -- I now recall obtaining switchblades --sort of-- back in the 1980s, years before I ever had a computer..... I'm not sure how I discovered the company selling DIY kits, but it was probably from a magazine ad. These were the 'NATO Military' OTFs..... I bought maybe 4...

Re: Switchblade Collecting
My cousin gave me a broken Super Automatic style OTF when I was around 11 years old. It would retract the blade only. My mother threw it away even though my father allowed me to have it. I loved that knife. That was the start of browsing the ad pages in magazines like Soldier of Fortune and other gu...

Re: Five Diamonds OTF
Could the extra weight be from going to zinc/white metal from aluminum for the handles ? Never seen a Lightning with that style blade (the two tone treatment), very similar to all those new OTFs coming out of Texas. Several brands, all the same handle profiles. No aluminum in those handles...it is ...

It's a cool replica, but it is not worth $125. $50 maybe.

Re: I have a new ACE EVO Extreme by AKC.
I have one of the earlier EVO knives without the pocket clip. It is well built for the price and has less blade play than my UTX 85

Re: AKC 777 Blackfinger
The EVO is A pretty well made knife. I was shocked that it has less blade play than my Microtech UTX-85. It is is a good deal for $80.
