I have one which is my user switchblade, a decent, rugged, inexpensive, knife with good steel.

Wow Chris - that's a beauty! I didn't know it would have both the dolphin and the Renzo stamps.

Re: due buoi

Tom - if you are referring to the Due Buoi, it is hard to establish a value as it is not often they appear on the market. When they do, it comes down to the asking price and if there is a buyer with the "gottahaveits" My thinking is that 500 would be a speculators asking price. If you are referring ...

Re: due buoi

Allen - nice photos! Was the Atlanta show where you had to try several Due Buois the one where the US Due Buoi representative exhibited substandard behavior? Ian - those Due Buoi leverlocks are extremely hard to find on this side of the Atlantic as well. I made a huge blunder by not grabbing one dur...

Re: due buoi

Tom - I can explain both. The Godfather is the "Godfather for stiletto collectors". It was sort of a forum knife, like the Due Buoi. We did it in the 2007 - 8 timeframe. Take a look at my comment in the Brazilian horn thread from a couple of days ago. Likewise with the Mikov, sort of a forum knife t...

Re: due buoi

Tom,

Your Due Buoi is a first run model. I have 11 of 15. Here on TalkBlade we organized the purchase, through Michele I believe, so it is sort of a forum knife although not etched as such.

Re: brazilian horn

Back in 2007 - 2008 we did an unofficial TalkBlade forum knife that was a ProTech Godfather with real horn handles; the "Godfather for stiletto collectors". A year or two later at Atlanta BLADE I met and introduced myself to Dave W., the owner of ProTech. Dave told me that the ProTech crew had not w...

Re: brazilian horn

Jerry - never mind the hour or the drugs consumed - that was an excellent post.

Bill - :D and they probably did. I imagine the scrap rate while working horn into scales is rather high?

Re: Funny Stuff

Jerry - regarding your comment: "Reminds me of the old Gahan Wilson comics in old Playboy magazines". Gahan Wilson spoke at the University of Maryland in the early '70's when I was a student there. He was fascinating in that most of the time he came across as normal and articulate. But when someone ...

St Patricks Day

Up until the pandemic, I was staffed and doing the weekly flights to and from the Boston area for several years. I learned that there, St. Patricks Day is not celebrated for a day, but for about 2 weeks!

John (and others) - any St Patricks Day stories?

Re: How many times a week you give your collection a look?

Allen,

In your case I suspect the accurate verbiage might be ... how many weeks would it take to give your collection a look... :D
