Re: Movie Switchblades
I'm sure that this film has already been brought up, I did not check the 114 pages of this thread first LOL. There was a very quick passing mentioning and showing of a switchblade knife taken off a girlfriend of a suspect Police arrest in the 1950 Film Noir "Between Midnight and Dawn". If someone is...

Thanks, odds are I will not doing anything with this until after Christmas. I will keep you in consideration.

Re: Imperial Candy Stripe, any way to salvage?
I have no clue what I'd be in for with this. Any recommendation on who to get it working again?

Re: is switchbladekits.com legit?
Thanks for posting this link. I'm considering getting this kit sometime in the near future. I tend to like the American made switchblades, but would like to have at least one iconic Italian Switchblade, "just to have". Are these kits actually Italian made knives? Re: Remains of a Hammer Brand Switchblade.
I get the impression that a kid had this knife and used it for throwing at trees in 1953 LOL.

Re: I own one switchblad that actually works!!
I like this little knife. Normally I go for a knife with a carbon steel blade as I have better luck getting them sharp, but my impression of this blade is that it might be easy to get sharp. Not certain I will sharpen it, not sure if it is technically legal to carry a switchblade where I live? But a...

Re: Remains of a Hammer Brand Switchblade.
If I were a rich man...I'd have someone who knows what they are doing try and get this one "up and running" again. I guess I had the "spare parts" idea in the back of my head as well. Never hurts to have the chassis of an old Hammer Brand lurking in my knife drawer.

Remains of a Hammer Brand Switchblade.
Hello This is the remains of what once was a Hammer Brand Switchblade, sometime between the end of the War and 1958 this knife was brand new and worked... Now today...this knife is the equilvilant of the rusted hulk of a Model T in an iconic photo of a Ghost Town. Not certain why I actually spent mo...

Re: Imperial Candy Stripe, any way to salvage?
It looks as there is about half of the spring remaining, it broke off about an inch from the blade tang. It looks as though the break is right beside the safety catch slide, if that makes sense? Knowing my metal working skills (lack there of), I'd feel better "contracting" this repair out to someone...

Imperial Candy Stripe, any way to salvage?
Hello I found this Imperial at a local antique shop. It is missing the internal spring (kick spring?) and does not fire. The button does work, as it keeps the blade from opening when not depressed, and allows the blade to be opened when depressed. The safety catch slide works as it should. I have PM...

Re: Movie Switchblades
I wish I could recall the names of the films, but in at least two of the Noir Films I have seen in the last few months one of the characters carries a switchblade, which by what I could tell at the time were of American make. Both characters were played by Elisha Cook Jr.
